About
This website was established in 2009 to organize and accessibilize the collection of videos that Maria Isabel Silva donated to the Herbert Brün Society in 2007. Work on the videos has been started and is ongoing.
Firstly, the whole collection has been numbered in chronological order, 1 to 91. This numbering system can be found on the front page in the left hand column. When the tapes were received from Maria Isabel SIlva, they were divided into four separate collections.
However, most of the additional details and footage from the video casettes will be organized through the master list on the front page. Footage is searchable using the search box in the left hand column, and the Collection # is something you only need to know if you’re trying to track down the original at the Herbert Brün House in Urbana, IL.
So, on the front page there are 91 lines each with the following data points:
Video # - - Date d/m/y - - Name (Collection)
… - – - – - – - – -… …
07 - – - – - – -14/6/93 SDaS: June 14th & 15th (1.1)
… - – - – - – - – -… …
“Video #” is the identification number in the new system. The example is number 07 out of 91.
“Date” is written: day / month / year.
“Name” generally refers to the key information written on the original 8mm tape.
The parenthetical number at the end refers to the collection number, and the number of the tape within a given collection. So, in the above example, (1.1) means that this item is in Collection 1, and is the first video within that collection.
